Shiva lingam stones, also known as Shiva linga, are sacred Hindu stones found along the Narmada River in India. They are also considered to be one of several important Kundalini crystals used in Shaiva Tantra practices.

Shiva lingams are a very hard crypto-crystalline quartz and contain other minerals such as feldspar, basalt, agate and jasper. Most stones are a combination of tans, chocolate browns, warm grays, and the occasional dark maize yellows. Every stone is unique. Some have ring, circular or color block patterns. There are Shiva stones that are even completely ash black, cinnamon brown or asphalt gray.

These peculiar stones are shaped into an elongated egg form to represent the universe and both divine female and male energies and properties. The stone is considered to be a powerhouse representation of the egg (feminine) and the phallus (male) united together to bring forth divine creation and sacred reproduction.

Some temples display Shiva stones in a disk shaped vessel, called a yoni. The insertion of the abstract phallus-shaped stone (lingam) onto the egg-shaped yoni vessel also symbolizes procreation and male and female unity.

The deity Shiva, or Ardhanarishvara, whom the stone is named after, is often depicted as half male (Shiva) and half female (Parvati) with a shiva lingam stone/statue centered in a yoni vessel near the folded legs of the deity.

Shiva stones are associated with Hindu religion, sexual health, reproduction, fertility, intuition, duality, potency, vision, balance, life, feminine and masculine unity, transformation, knowledge, power, creation, the deity Shiva, the deity Parvati (Devi and Shakti), vitality, pranic energy (energy and balance of the universe), regeneration, new paths, courage, strength, intensity, spiritual awakening, potential and more.

This stone is also associated with the alignment all of the chakras, the planet earth, the elements of water, fire, earth and wind, the astrological sign of Scorpio, and the spirit or soul.

These stones range from 42-108g grams. They slightly vary in size and are priced accordingly.
