Zebradorite is not a stone you'll often see in most shops. It's a graphic quartz, meaning that the pieces of feldspar and smoky quartz inclusions, randomly occurring in the stone, give off a picturesque aesthetic.
Upon a close look of the stone, you'll notice that is not opaque throughout. There are generous areas of striking translucence.
The stone is called zebradorite because the stone's formations are said by some to resemble zebra coat markings.
It comes in several colors of different variations. There are some who will liken the blend of colors and inclusions to butter pecan ice cream.
More common hue combinations consist of creamy whites, caramel tans, beignet beiges and transparent smoky warm grays. Because of the orthoclase feldspar in the stone, you will sometimes see warm pinks.
Zebradorite is associated with the Aquarius and Cancer sun signs, all chakras, self-evaluation, trauma healing, self-growth, personal power, goal attainment and spirit soothing.
It is also a sought after stone among artisans who use it to make sculptures, vessels, luxurious slab tiles, and distinctive jewelry.
